Reverend Samantha Bronson
Children's and Youth Pastor
April 22, 2026
Dear community of CUC, Well, the time has come to let you all know the Bronson life plan. As many of you are aware, my husband, Luke, has been applying to medical schools around the country. He was officially rejected from CU a few weeks ago, which means we are down to waiting to hear from a waitlisted school (in Chicago) and a school in New York City.
At this point, we know that we are moving this summer. The questions that remain are 1) What city? And 2) When? After we sat down and looked at timelines, we realized that we can, in fact, mostly answer the “when.” Between now and June 1st, we will hear if Luke has been moved off the waitlist and accepted to Rush Medical School in Chicago. If he is accepted, my last day will be Sunday, June 14th. If he is not accepted, we will be moving to New York City. If that is the case, my last day will be Thursday, July 16th, and my last Sunday will be July 12th.
Please know that my priority is providing continued care for the families and children of CUC. In light of this, I have been working on solidifying the volunteer bases for Children’s, Youth, and other ministry areas I am involved in.
There are so many feelings that bubble up as I write this letter: joy at the journey ahead, anxiety about not knowing what will happen, gratitude for the ways that CUC has been part of my family, and sadness at leaving behind the people here who have been so dear to me for the past six years.
I appreciate your kindness and support as a community to me as a pastor, a young adult, a new mom, and to my family.
Much gratitude and many blessings,
Rev. Samantha Bronson
From the Church:
We celebrate Samantha and her leadership at CUC. Her final Sunday has not yet been set. Once it is confirmed, we will plan a send-off for Samantha and her family—everyone will be invited.
As we look ahead, the SPRC (Staff Parish Relations Committee), in partnership with Samantha, Jeannie, Jill, and the Next Generation Committee, will review program needs, update job descriptions, form an interview team, and begin the hiring process. We plan to hire one director or two part-time directors to focus on Children and Youth Ministry. We know CUC values vibrant programs for kids, youth and families.
The goal is to bring the right candidate(s) on board over the summer. We will keep you informed as the process moves forward.
